Tiffany Cabán - The New York City Council

Tiffany is from Richmond Hill, Queens. She has a bachelor’s degree in Crime, Law, and Justice from Pennsylvania State University and a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School. She lives in Astoria with her two rescue dogs, Natalie and Coltrane.

Tiffany is a public defender. She worked at New York County Defender Services and the Legal Aid Society's Criminal Defense Practice, where she represented over a thousand indigent clients in cases ranging from turnstile jumping to homicide. Throughout her professional career, she used the law to help New York City’s most vulnerable communities.

Tiffany is currently the Council Member for New York City Council District 22. She was elected in 2021 and has served one term. Before joining the New York City Council, Tiffany ran for Queens District Attorney in 2019 but did not win.

Supports creating a citywide portable benefits model to provide social benefits to workers regardless of employment status.

Supports implementing just cause and whistleblower protections to combat unfair and discriminatory firings.
