Daniel Alemán Jr. holds a bachelor's degree in business administration degree from Dallas Baptist University and a master’s degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Debbie, have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. He is a former president of the Mesquite Ministerial Alliance. He serves as a mentor for the Poteet High School Football Team and for the Men of Honor Program at Terry Middle School.

Daniel Alemán Jr. was elected as Mesquite’s first Latino mayor Nov. 2021. Prior to his election, Mr. Alemán represented District 6 on the City Council since 2016. Mr. Alemán has been a resident since 1998. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Dallas Baptist University and a Master’s of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Debbie, are the proud parents to Jennifer Salazar, Stephanie and Joshua Alemán. They have six grandchildren with one on the way.
