Robert Bryant previously ran for Georgia public service commissioner as a Democrat to represent district 1 in 2020 but did not win.

Robert is currently the director of development, inclusion & equity at Clemson University. He is also an adjunct associate professor at Shenandoah University, where he teaches educational leadership. He used to be the director of the Harvey & Lucinda Gantt Multicultural Center at Clemson. He also used to be the chief executive officer at RG Bryant Solutions and associate dean of students for diversity and inclusion at Bridgewater College.

Robert is originally from Savannah. He attended Windsor Forest High School. He has a bachelor's degree in public relations from Georgia Southern University, a master's degree in higher education from Georgia Southern University, and a PhD in adult education from Georgia Southern University.
