Bo is a native of Cordele, Georgia. He is married and has three children. He attends First Presbyterian Church. He holds a degree from Georgia Southern College, and a law degree from the University of Georgia.

Bo has practiced law in Albany since 1987.

Bo Dorough is currently the Mayor. He was first elected in 2020 and has been in office for one term. He previously served as a city council member for four terms from 2000 to 2007. He previously ran for Mayor in 2007 and did not win.

Wants to help transition to solar power by constructing solar farms on 800 acres in Dougherty County.
