Bruce is originally from Garden City. He has been married to his wife for 48 years. Together they have three daughters, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Bruce has been the owner of TC Barber & Styling Shop on Augusta Road for 31 years. Before this, he worked for the federal government in the Public Work's department. Bruce is also a veteran who served in the Navy.

Bruce Campbell is currently Mayor. He was first elected in 2011 as a city council member. He served 4 terms as council member, and has served as mayor since 2022. Bruce worked on the Planning and Zoning Commission. He is Garden City's first Black mayor.
