Teresa is from the Puget Sound region. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and as master's degree in public administration from the Evergreen State College. She lives with her husband and three-year-old daughter.

Teresa used to be the government affairs director for labor union Washington State Labor Council AFL-CIO, the Children's Alliance, as the legislative coordinator for the Community and Family Health Division of the Washington State Department of Health, and at SeaMar Community Health Centers.

Teresa Mosqueda is currently the Seattle city council member representing position 8. She was first elected in and has been in office for two terms. She is the budget chair of the Seattle City Council.

Sofia is originally from the Philippines. She was raised in south Seattle. She has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Washington, a bachelor's degree in nursing from Seattle University, and a law degree from Loyola University-Chicago. She lives with her husband.

Sofia is the executive director of the Washington Center for Nursing. She is also an affiliate instructor at the University of Washington School of Nursing. She used to be a nurse.
