Vote Washington, Javier Vela

Javier attended Wapato High School and Yakima Valley College. He has a daughter who is in 10th grade at Wapato High School.

Javier worked in the Yakima School District for 26 years. He was a para-professional, migrant home visitor, and McKinney Vento Manager k-12.

Javier Vela is currently a director on the Wapato School Board. He was first elected in 2011 and has been in office for three terms.

- School District Directors work together to make school policy, set the budget, decide what is taught in schools, and appoint the superintendent to run the schools day to day.
