Dave has an associate's degree from Yakima County Community College, a bachelor's degree in education from Washington State University, a master's degree in special education from Portland State University, and a master's degree in school administration from Eastern Washington University.

Dave was an elementary and middle school teacher for nine years, an elementary school principal for ten years, a special education director for five years, and a middle school principal for 18 years.

Dave Jaeger is currently a director on the West Valley School Board. He was first election in 2015 and has been in office for two terms.
