Bernhard Bernie Hoenle's campaign for school board member in the Fountain Hills Unified School District in Arizona is his first run for public office.

Bernie currently serves as the executive director of the Fountain Hills Community Foundation and Kiwanis International, District 12. He also serves as an appointed commissioner of the Strategic Planning Advisory Commission for Fountain Hills. Bernie served in the United States Air Force for 28 years. He retired as a director for the Air Force Chief Information Office (AF-CIO).

Bernie earned his bachelor's degree and his master's degree in educational administration from the University of Arizona. He volunteers at McDowell Mountain Elementary and Fountain Hills Middle School. Bernie resides in Fountain Hills with his wife, Marcia.
