Lea Márquez Peterson is currently serving as an Arizona Corporation Commissioner. She was appointed in 2019 and is serving her 2nd term. She ran for the U.S. House in Arizona Congressional District 2 in 2018, but did not win.

Lea is the Independent Director for Stearns Bank N.A. and the President of Marquez Peterson Group, LLC. She was previously the President/CEO Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Executive Director for Greater Tucson Leadership.

Lea has a bachelors degree in entrepreneurial studies from the University of Arizona and a masters of business administration from Pepperdine University. She lives in Tuscan with her husband Daniel and their two children. She volunteers as a board member for the Arizona Judicial Council, a director member of the Latino Corporate Directors Association, a board member of the Arizona Finance Authority, president of the NAWBO Greater Tucson, chairperson of the National Small Business Development Center Advisory Board and a member of the National Advisory Council for the U.S. Small Business Administration, and a member of the International Women's Forum.
