Jannett earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics from Baylor University, a master's degree in business administration from Southern Illinois University, and a doctorate degree in industrial engineering and organizational management from Northwestern University.

Jannett has worked for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Previously, she served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force.
