Georgia Assembly: Rep. Demetrius Douglas Biography

Demetrius is originally from Atlanta. He earned his bachelor's degree in education from the University of Georgia, and later a certificate in diversity and inclusion from Cornell University. He is an active member of Word of Faith Family Cathedral, where he serves as a deacon. Demetrius is married with 2 daughters.

Demetrius works as a principal consultant for the Fifty-Three Group, which focuses on real estate investing and financing. He also played for multiple professional football teams, including the Washington Redskins, the New York Jets, and the Calgary Stampeders.

Demetrius Douglas is the current state representative for Georgia's House District 78. He was elected in 2012.
