Lee Anderson was first elected in 2016 to serve Senate District 24. He serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and the Environment and the Vice Chairman of the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee. He is also a member of the Appropriations and Rules Committees. Previously, he served as a State House of Representatives from 2009 until 2012. In 2012, he was appointed by Governor Deal to serve on the Board of Corrections. He has served as Chair of the State Young Farmers and was on the Columbia County Board of Education and the Columbia County Board of Commissioners.

Lee is a small businessman and farmer on land his family has farmed since the early 1900s.

Lee is married and has two children. They are members of Abilene Baptist. Lee is a Columbia, Georgia native.
