Consuls and his wife, Rebecca Jo Scott, have two children. He is a graduate of Athens Technical College, where he got a degree in business marketing. He is a devout Christian.

Conolus is the Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Committee for Madison County. He worked as a plumber and for fourteen years owned his own business selling and installing mobile homes. Before that, he worked at Westinghouse in Athens as a laborer, supervisor, then as an area manager

Conolus Scott was the democratic candidate for State Senate District 47 in 2022, but did not win.
