Wesley is a lifelong resident of Franklin County and attended Louisburg High School. He has a bachelors degree in geology from North Carolina State University. He is married with two children.

Stuart was born and raised in Franklin County, He studied at Louisburg College and Barton College. He is married to Kelly May Horton and together they have a son. They attend Hill King United Methodist Church.
