Chuck Tyson currently serves as Mayor of Trent Woods. He was named to that position in 2006 and is serving his eighth term. He previously served as a Craven County Commissioner. He was named to that position in 1994 and served for four terms. He also served as a Tren Woods County Commissioner. He was named to that position in 1987 and served for 3 terms. He previously served as chairperson of the Craven County Republican Party.

Chuck owns Tyson & Hooks Realty, Inc., where he works as a broker. He also owns Tyson Management Company.

Chuck was born and raised in New Bern. He attended East Carolina University. He is married to his wife, Jeannie, with whom he has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. He is a member of Garber Church.
