Lisa is from Charlotte. She holds a degree in English Literature and psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a degree in English and psychology from North Carolina State University, and a master's degree in theological studies from Liberty University. She has volunteered with Festival in Park, Charlotte Folk Society Stage, giving out food to homeless people downtown, the Foxhole Landfill Citizens Committee, and the Charlotte Community Relations Committee. She is also a violinist at Calvary Church in Charlotte.
