David is the CEO and a founding shareholder of Global Higher Education Group LLC, and has previously served as President of Protocol International, Inc. He was a Senior Vice President at Ambassadors LLC and founded Embark LLC. Additionally, he co-founded Conference IQ LLC, a directory of business events and professional speakers.

Personal background

David is a single father co-parenting three children, Calia, Nicholas, and Quinn, with his ex-wife Jeannine. He was raised in a small town alongside his three brothers and sister. David graduated from the University of Iowa with a major in political science and an emphasis in economics.

Insurance

Opposes insurance rate increases, saying he "will fight against any insurance rate increases during his four year term."

Promises "Insurance claim resolution within 60 days", saying "insurance companies will have 60 days to pay claims or be subject to a penalty that is paid to you, not the DOI.

Said "I will work with the debt collection agencies to put together a model repayment plan that is adopted industry wide that includes a low interest rate, payment plans, and canceling debt when possible."

Consumer Protection

Said "I'll work with the legislature to get legislation on the books that protects consumers from predatory practices, high interest rates, and wrecking credit reports."

Said he will stop "the overcharging of seniors on their medical bills, helping resolve claims quickly and fairly, providing Medicare supplemental insurance for all North Carolina seniors and working to expand Medicare for all."

Will create a "public website that has ratings for auto, home, renters, and other insurance lines. This website will include a rating based upon price, customer complaints, payment of claims, and other factors."

Fire Safety

Said "I will immeidately begin the process of procuring a 2nd set of turnout gear for any NC fire deptartment and/or rescue squad that requests it. This 2nd set of gear will help lower the rate of cancer that an unclean set of gear subjects firefighters. The gear costs approximately $2500 per firefighter and many departments cannot afford this extra cost."

Said he "will push with the NC General Assembly a $5000 tax credit for every firefighter that is either full time or has at least 10 hours of service as a volunteer each month."
