Wes holds a master's degree in public administration from Webster University. He has two sons and six grandchildren. Wes volunteers with the Windcrest Citizens on Patrol (WCCPD).

Wes previously worked in the law enforcement industry. He served in the Marines and Army for 33 years as both an active and reserve member.
