Susan Korbel ran for Bexar County Commissioner in Precinct 3 in 2022, but she did not win. She previously served as a trustee of Alamo Colleges. She was elected to that position in 2000.

Susan currently works at Core Research, a consumer research business she founded. She previously worked in management roles at Harte-Hanks Communications and owned the Southwest International News Service.

Susan was born in Detroit, Texas. She holds a bachelor's degree in the politics of education from Cornell University and both a master's degree in labor relations and a doctorate degree in public administration from the University of Michigan. She lives in Castle Hills. She is married to her husband, with whom she has 2 children. She is Protestant.
