Mike is a native of Harris County. He earned his bachelor's in political science from St. Thomas University.

Mike has served as a Child Support Officer for the Texas Attorney General, a Government Affairs Specialist for the Harris County District Clerk, and a Juvenile Supervision Officer. He has also taught high school social studies.

Brandon earned an associate's degree in electronic systems technology from the Community College of the Airforce and a bachelor's degree in government and history from the University of Houston—Clear Lake. He currently serves as president of the Harris County Mayors and Councils Association Board and previously served on the Harris Health Board of Managers. 

Brandon currently works as a corporate quality manager for Airgas. He previously worked as a deputy program manager/ quality manager for RSI at NASA Johnson Space Center Calibration Lab and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Mercedes Renteria, III currently serves as a school board member for District 2 of the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District Board. Mercedes was elected to the Baytown City Council in 2001 and served three terms until 2007, after losing re-election. Mercedes was elected and served four additional terms on the Baytown City Council from 2009 to 2017, losing the 2016 and 2018 elections to the District 1 seat.
