Warren Simmons

Council District 1, Post 3: Warren Simmons

Warren Simmons moved to Doraville over ten years ago and almost immediately after arriving, got involved in his new city. In 2014, he joined the Doraville Urban Redevelopment Authority and most recently served as Vice Chair of the Doraville Planning Commission. Simmons has spent over twenty years in the construction industry as a commercial Construction Project Manager. Simmons graduated in 2003 from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and a minor in City Planning. He lives in Doraville with his wife Jen, a Public Health Advisor with the CDC, their teenage son Bryce, an elite baseball player, and their two rescue dogs, Cooper and Willie Nelson.

Warren is a construction project manager at a commercial construction firm. He has spent over twenty years in the construction industry. 

Warren is currently a member of the Doraville City Council, District 1. He was elected for a one-year term in a special election in November 2021.

Plans to carefully assess the impact of new businesses and residents on city infrastructure and city workers.

Plans to carefully assess proposed plans and the direct impact of new companies and residents on "our roads, communities, culture, and the overall look of our City."

Supports current mobility-focused public projects in Doraville, including new sidewalks, the Peachtree Creek Greenway, and the Chicopee Trail project.

Believes that a safe community will encourage neighborly conversations, quicker issue resolution, and the sharing of good ideas.

Supports the construction of sidewalks in order to create pedestrian and cyclist safe streets.
