Christopher Henshaw was born and raised in northern New Jersey. He holds a bachelors and master's degree in architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is married to his wife, Kimberly, with whom he has a son.

Christopher currently serves as a Doraville City Council member in District 2. He was elected in 2019 and is serving his second term. 

As mayor, reduced the city millage rate from 10 to 9 and increased the homestead exemption to 2.5+ mills, resulting in an effective city tax rate of 6.5% for homeowners and a 35% tax rate reduction over six years.
