Tom Langford

Tom Langford has lived in Ward 1 for many years and grew up in the neighborhood along Main Street. A 1990 graduate of LaFayette High School and a 1996 graduate of Georgia Southern University, Tom has spent nearly 30 years working in education as a teacher, coach, and mentor in Walker and Gordon counties. Much of his career was spent teaching government, where he helped students develop a strong understanding of civic engagement and public service. Today, Tom serves as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at LaFayette High School, continuing his commitment to supporting student growth and leadership. He has been serving on the LaFayette City Council since March 2025. He is married to Cindy, a fellow 1990 LaFayette High School graduate and dedicated teacher at the school. They attend First Baptist Church of LaFayette, where Tom serves as a Deacon. Together, they have three children: McKinley, Pierce, and Grant.
