Melissa Mular

Melissa Mular is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She has a master’s degree in business management and marketing and bachelor’s degrees in computer science and management information systems from Duquesne University. She lives with her two rescue American Pitbull Terriers in the Autumn Chace community.

Melissa is a retired technology executive who worked at IBM for over 20 years. During her time at IBM, she managed international teams and delivered multi-million dollar consulting services to Fortune 100 companies. 

Melissa is currently a member of the Sandy Springs City Council, representing District 3. She was elected in 2021 and is serving her first term. Before joining the Sandy Springs City Council, she served for a decade on the board of the Autumn Chase Homeowners Association.

Tara earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and a doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Mercer University. She has lived in Sandy Springs with her husband, Sean, since 2019.

Tara is a licensed professional counselor and small business owner. She runs a virtual private practice, Getting Overzat LLC. She also teaches as an adjunct professor in the Mercer University graduate counseling program.

Tara Overzat earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and a doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Mercer University. She has lived in Sandy Springs with her husband, Sean, and their cats, Moxie and Midnight OverCat, since 2019.

Tara is a licensed professional counselor and small business owner. She runs a virtual private practice, Getting Overzat LLC. She also teaches as an adjunct professor in the Mercer University graduate counseling program. Before starting her practice, she worked as a therapist in various settings, including schools and community mental health organizations. She has been in the mental health field for nearly 15 years, helping clients lead happier, healthier lives. She has also taught and trained hundreds of graduate students and therapists to prepare them for their roles in the community.
