Tom served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 30 years.

Tom is currently serving as the Mayor Pro Tem for the Town of North Topsail Beach. He was first elected to the Board of Aldermen in 2011 and served until 2015. He was re-elected in 2017 and re-elected in the following years.
