Ja'Quez Taylor is from Thomasville, North Carolina, and was raised in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Throughout his career, Ja'Quez has held various roles, including Program Director, Director of Elementary Programs, and K-12 Education Consultant.

Ja'Quez is currently a member of the Thomasville City Schools Board of Education. He was most recently elected for a 4-year term in 2023, a historical moment for Thomasville as this is the first time in history where the citizens elected their first school board members.
