JC Lyle is originally from Virginia. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She lives with her husband and her 2 stepchildren in Wilmington.

JC previously served as chair of the Wilmington Planning Commission. She served from 2018 to 2024. Her campaign for City Council Member in Wilmington is her first run for elected office.

JC currently works as the senior regional director for Wesley Community Development. She previously worked as the executive director and chief executive officer for Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry, Inc., as a senior land designer for McKim & Creed, Inc., and as a site plan designer for Zimmer Development Company.
