Jessie Bellflowers sworn in as Hope Mills mayor

Jessie is currently the mayor of Hope Mills. He was elected in 2023 and is serving his first term. Before becoming mayor, he served as a town commissioner from 2017 to 2021. He ran for re-election in 2021 but lost. 

Plans to address the sales tax deficit the town will face due to Cumberland County changing its sales tax distribution method.

Economy

Plans to create an economic development committee to manage town economic growth and develop connections with citizens, the Chamber of Commerce, and the board.

Supports transparency and public input, citing the lack of public involvement in the recently approved Ballred LLC contract to bring in a baseball team.
