Darrell Hinnant, MAT | Cabarrus College of Health Sciences

Darrell Hinnant earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives with his wife, Mary, and their two children in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Darrell is the president of dHinnant Business Solutions. He previously served as the executive director of the North Carolina Hazardous Waste Commission in Raleigh. Earlier in his career, he held executive positions at Rollins Environmental Services, SouthEastern Labs, and Radiator Specialty Co. He also taught wastewater treatment operator classes for the State of North Carolina.

Darrell is currently the mayor of Kannapolis. He was first elected as mayor in 2013 and is currently serving his third term. Before becoming mayor, he served on the Kannapolis City Council from 2001 to 2013.

Plans to revitalize downtown and recruit more economic development and job opportunities.
