Guillermo A. Nurse

Guillermo Nurse was born in the former U.S. territory of the Panama Canal Zone and raised in the town of Pedro Miguel. He immigrated to the United States at 17. He and his wife, Kirsa, have six children and eleven grandchildren. They have lived in Oxford, North Carolina since 2010.

Guillermo is a scholarship consultant and basketball coach. He has spent over thirty years helping young men and women from Panama and Puerto Rico access educational and athletic scholarships in the United States. He also coached Panama's national basketball team.

Guillermo A. Nurse is currently the mayor of Oxford. He was elected in 2023 and is serving his first term.
