Kimberly Sherwood earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a master’s degree in criminal justice from Boston University. She lives in Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina.

Kim is currently a commissioner for the City of Boiling Spring Lakes. She previously served as mayor pro tem in Carolina Beach for four years and was a member of the planning and zoning board there.
