Danny Nowell is from Carrboro, North Carolina. He has a bachelor of arts in English and creative writing and a bachelor of arts in music from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives with his wife, Sallie, and their two children in Carrboro.

Supports revising the Land Use Ordinance to ensure new buildings reflect community values and promote economic vitality.

Believes in using town resources to organize efforts that empower citizens and bring underrepresented voices into leadership.

Supports adding diverse housing types to meet demand, but believes the market won't provide affordable housing at the needed scale.

Supports connecting development with alternative transportation modes to reflect Carrboro's pedestrian-friendly character and climate priorities.

As a council member, convened a Community Safety Task Force to research how municipalities are reducing negative impacts from public safety and policing while putting care and well-being at the center of our approach.

Supports prioritizing the Safe Routes to School plans and the Carrboro Bicycle Plan in upcoming budget cycles.
