Barbara Townsend is from Livonia, Michigan. She lives with her husband, David, and their two children in Granbury. She attends Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Barbara is currently a trustee on the Granbury Independent School District Board. She was first elected in 2021 and is serving her first term.
