Amani is married to Rick Burris. They have two kids together. 

Amani works as an advising assistant to human rights advocate Dr. Opal Lee. She previously worked for State Senator Taylor, as a campaign aide to Mayor Paul Soglin, and as a journalist.

This is Amani Burris' first time running for public office.

Amani Latimer Burris

Julia has a bachelor's in medical microbiology and molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a lifelong Madison resident.

Julia is a programmer analyst at the University of Wisconsin's School of Medicine and Public Health. She previously worked as a lifeguard. 

Julia Matthews previously ran for Madison's common council in 2023 burt did not win.
