Ceretta Smith previously served as a city council member. She was first elected in 2021 and has been in office for one term.

Ceretta served in the US Army as a medic. She worked for the Federal Government for 25 years helping wounded service members medically board and retire. Ceretta then served as the chief steward, legislative political coordinator and local President at the American Federation of Government Employees. She is also a small business owner.

Ceretta is married and lives in Grovetown. She holds a bachelor degree in the arts from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology, and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the Sacramento School of Theology. She also holds associate degrees in business management and business administration from Augusta Technical College.
