Curtis Nielson currently serves as City Councilmember in Avondale City Council. He was first elected in 2018 and is serving his second term. He previously served as School Board Member in Littleton Elementary School District in Tolleson Union, serving two terms from 2016 to 2022. He ran for reelection, but did not win.

Curtis is retired. He previously worked as a metallurgical engineer.

Curtis is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned his bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Utah. He lives with his wife Patti and they have 9 children and 27 grandchildren.
