Rachel Barnett currently serves as a member of the Littleton Elementary School District Governing Board. She was first elected in 2022 and began her term in January 2023. This is her first term on the board.

Rachel currently works as a therapist at Valle del Sol, a nonprofit organization. She previously served on the Cuyahoga County Community Service Board in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was recognized as Community Provider of the Year by Murtis Taylor, HSS. Rachel is also the current president of the Arizona School Boards Association (ASBA) Black Alliance and has served as the Arizona state secretary for the NAACP.

Rachel is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and relocated to Arizona in 2019. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Hampton University and her master's degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University. She is a mother of 6 children.
